Studio Ours
A freelance web development case study.

I worked with Christina Sok on developing the website for Studio Ours in the weeks leading up to its opening in the late winter of 2025.
Studio Ours is a freelance website design and development project completed for a multidisciplinary creative studio. The project challenged me to transform an established brand identity into a fully realized digital experience while balancing multiple service offerings, client feedback, and a three week production timeline. Working directly with the client gave me the opportunity to manage both the visual and technical aspects of the website, from early planning through final implementation.
About the Project
Project Overview
The Studio Ours website was designed to present a wide range of creative services through a cohesive and intuitive user experience. Because the studio offers everything from workshops and community events to memberships and retail products, the website needed to organize a large amount of information without overwhelming users. Every design decision prioritized clarity, accessibility, and flexibility, allowing visitors to easily navigate the site's offerings while maintaining a strong visual identity.
My Role
As the lead designer and developer, I was responsible for adapting Studio Ours' existing brand identity into a responsive website using Wix Studio. While many of the core brand elements had already been established, I determined how they would translate into a digital environment by expanding the color system, refining visual hierarchy, and developing supporting interface elements where needed.
Working directly with the client throughout the project, I translated business goals into an intuitive user experience through continuous feedback and iteration. Completing the project within a three week timeline required thoughtful planning, efficient communication, and rapid problem solving while maintaining a high level of design quality.
Website Design & Development
The Studio Ours website incorporates a wide range of Wix Studio features, including image galleries, animations, event booking, memberships, user accounts, responsive layouts, and a scalable ecommerce backend prepared for future inventory management. I also implemented accessibility best practices by writing descriptive alt text for imagery and optimizing the site's search engine performance through SEO.
One of the more technically challenging aspects of the project involved creating custom animated banners. Because Wix Studio did not include a native component that supported the client's branded icons, I developed a custom JavaScript solution using AI assisted coding. Through an iterative process of prompting, testing, debugging, and manually refining animation timing, I created a smooth scrolling banner that integrated seamlessly with the overall design.
Reflection
Studio Ours strengthened my understanding of the relationship between visual design and front end development. Beyond designing an engaging interface, the project challenged me to think about scalability, accessibility, performance, and long term flexibility. It also reinforced the importance of collaboration and communication when translating a client's vision into a polished digital experience under a demanding timeline.
